Today, I would like to share my
writing from papers from three different colleges in Bandung which I had read several days ago. There are Polytechnic STTT Bandung,
Indonesia University of Education, and Bandung Institute of Technology.
Depend on what I
had seen, read, and looked, the three of it have differences and their own
character. First, from Politecnic
STTT Bandung
I chose the paper which discuss
about “DECORATIVE DESIGN WITH LACE MATERIAL ON WEDDING GOWN MERMAID SILHOUETTE” by Sabilla Mahsa from year
2009.
The cover looks so
good. The printing of the cover is really clear. The title, logo, the name of college,
and others are really clear to see and do not blur. The discussion is really
interesting. She is not only serve her writing, but she also serves some
pictures which make her writing clearer. Beside that she also gives an explanation on the picture, so we can understand
what picture it is, what the meaning of the picture is, etc. She puts pictures
not only in one page or in one discussion, but she also puts pictures in every
page and discussion which need more pictures to make the explanation clearer.
This paper discusses
if in this era, we don’t have to use expensive material to make a glamour and
elegant wedding gown, but we can use cheap material such as lace for making it.
Yes, maybe some people are still think that to make such glamor, elegant, and
luxurious one, we need expensive and a lot of material beside a good design.
But that thinking is not existing anymore. There are a lot of talented
designers who can conjure up cheap material become luxurious one only with
decorative design.
Lace is one of the
material which Indonesian knows as the general material to make kebaya.
Although this material cannot be luxurious gown as the expensive one, this simple
wedding can be look more minimalize and this gown has the competitiveness with
other wedding gown.
Second, the paper
from Indonesia University of
Education.
I think the cover or the printing are not good enough. Why? Because the title,
the name of college, and others are not clear enough to read. It blurs, and
sometimes if we do not take a picture of it carefully, the title or the name of
college student cannot be read. Like what had happened to me. I took the
picture of the cover, but the name of the college student and her year couldn’t
be seen and read, I just can read her first name Hilda. Beside that I think the writing are little bit monotone
because she puts a lot of writing and explanation, but she do not give some
pictures to make it clearer. She just gives picture in a point. So, that’s why it makes me bored and lazy to read
it more. And from the same course, between one and other paper the color that
printed for the cover is different.
From this college,
I chose paper with title “MANFAAT HASIL BELAJAR BUSANA PENGANTIN SEBAGAI
PERSIAPAN MEMBUKA USAHA BUSANA PENGANTIN.” This paper discus about the benefit
of learning about wedding gown. From this papers we can now what kind of materials and accessories which are usually
used to make wedding gown. Beside that we can also learn some of characteristic
of wedding gown from several regions such as Java, Sunda, Bali,
Kalimantan, etc. We can also learn what should be prepared to open wedding gown
business.
The last one is
paper from Bandung Institute of Technology. I chose the paper from Ahmad Arida
from year 2011. Actually, this paper is different from both other which I had
shared before. If the both one talk fashion design, this one talk about product
design. If I look from cover and discussion, it is quite interesting. The
printing of the cover is clear enough to read and seen. And the discussion not
so monotone.
